Red Deer Lake School Community Engagement

At Red Deer Lake School, we are exploring the opportunity of offering the FSD Junior Kindergarten program beginning next school year (September 2026). To help us understand the needs and interests of our families, we are gathering information through this Expression of Interest.

Junior Kindergarten with FSD supports early growth in key areas such as early literacy, numeracy, social skills, curiosity for learning, communication, and problem-solving. Students build confidence, develop positive relationships at RDL, and engage in learning experiences that help them understand the world around them. 

• Children age 4 by December 31 of their enrollment year
• For children with a demonstrated need of moderate or severe delays, the program can support learners age 2 years and 8 months by September 1 of their enrollment year. For more information please see: foothillsschooldivision.ca/early-intervention

As Alberta Education and Childcare does not fund pre-kindergarten programming, there will be a monthly fee for the program. Cost is $100 for 1 full day of programming per week; for a 5 day per week program, the monthly cost is $500).
