Engagement, Support and Success

Foothills School Division wants to ensure our students are well prepared for their future. Next year’s incoming kindergarten class will graduate in 2034 and we want to know how you think we can best prepare them for 2034 and beyond.

If you think about 2034, what will students need to know then to help them achieve their dreams? Are there new skills they may need to develop? What will tomorrow’s leaders need to know and know how to do to be successful?

We will be asking you to help us plan the future of FSD, how we can adjust our plans, how this affects our 3 year Education Plan, and how to adjust next year's budget to help us achieve our future goals.

Join the discussion, add your thoughts on how we ensure that graduates will be successful in their future below.

1. What can FSD (Foothills School Division) start or stop doing to prepare students for the world of 2034?
more sports time
Start spanish,Coding, money, writing
I think that in Language Arts they should learn more languages other than french. Like, Spanish, Italian?, etc.
I think we should learn more about computers and coding and things like that.I don't think we should not need to learn about music if we don't want to play music when we are older.
I think that in the electricity and magnetism unit I think you should take a short little look at how computers work.
I think we need to start learning more about how to act in the future and more about mony.
Allow fidgets, flexibility gym class
I think schools should teach them about society and how to treat other people. Or just how other people treat others. Like racism, you have to be taught to not be racist or treat other people differently because of what they look like or believe in, etc.
Learn more about the real world,No more Music,No more swimming lessons
I think we should have more choice in our learning like 7-12 graders and how they get choice in what they learn i think we should get choice in our learning

2. How can FSD provide greater involvement for students in regards to their own learning?
the choice of certain things like music, library and gym
Ask a what is important to you an add all of it together
give options servay
They should put more surveys, and comfort them to make their own choices and have their own opinions.
Surveys on what students like/don't like.
I think the teachers should give the kids a chance to say they would like to do something else at their level
Do a survey about our learning
Schools should start less early because human brains don't fully work until 10 AM.
At the start of the year you could send a survey out and let parents and kids ask questions and send ideas to FSD
