Before the Board of Trustees ratify the calendar, we want your eyes on it . You provide great ideas to inform the decisions regarding the operations of our system.

While you review the draft calendar, please keep in mind the following frameworks in which the calendar is constucted (From AP130 - Organization of the School Year):

  • We have a commitment to provide a minimum number of instructional hours to students
  • We have a commitment to provide a minimum number of professional learning days, as per collective agreements (link to FSD | Labour Relations).
  • We are required to work around provincially mandated exams and assessments (Alberta.ca).
  • We are striving for a balance of breaks throughout the year (Fall Break -- Winter Break -- Spring Break).
  • We strive to support the social-emotional well-being of our staff and students.

We are continuing to explore financial and calendar efficiencies to best serve our students while maintaining wellness for all. Your input helps us to promote that we are maximizing student learning and staff wellness while balancing organizational priorities. Thank you for taking the time to participate in this survey.
